This is the first time I cooked in this one (it kind of came with the apartment we rent) and was a bit sceptical as I was told the same thing when I bought my own tagine. It has got a very sturdy base though, almost identical to my plain one that is for cooking that I have at home. It worked perfectly and is still in one piece!!

This looks fantastic and I'm adding it to my recipe collection. One question...we bought a tagine similar to the one you picture here but were told that it was only for decoration not cooking, so we returned it for a plainer one, was I misled?
