It has got a very sturdy base though, almost identical to my plain one that is for cooking that I have at home. It worked perfectly and is still in one piece!! One question...we bought a tagine similar to the one you picture here but were told that it was only for decoration not cooking, so we returned it for a plainer one, was I misled?
