That is so funny James! There is a book called the Caliphs House, where the gentleman has a similar run in at the Casablanca port, they wanted him to translate all his books into Arabic!!! You are right, it certainly adds an interesting twist to life!

I sympathise with you. When I was leaving Egypt in the seventies I took my stuff down to be shipped. The customs officer told me that all my books would have to read before being allowed to be shipped. There were a lot of books and this fellow did not look as if he spent a lot of time between the pages of a book. I returned the next day with an ex- military officer from the Egyptian army. The customs officer stood to attention and told him that my belongings would be shipped forthwith.
He also readily accepted the generous bagsheesh offered him and my stuf was on its merry way. I miss all that somehow or other. It gives a certain flavor to life that you don't have in so-called civilised countries.

These are really cute...I love the bears. I just recently learned about the bento box craze from some food blogs. We don't pack any lunches here in Morocco, but I think I'd pick up a couple when we go back to the US and start working again. I love organizing everything and organizing food...wow! They must be so fun to make the shapes...I even noticed the flowery carrot details.
