Change….

In the last few months there have been many changes in our lives, some good and some bad.  At the start of the summer we said goodbye to some fellow South Africans that we had met. We also said a very sad goodbye to our Moroccan friends who have moved back to the USA. Our children I think feel it more than we do as we live in a rural area and they so enjoyed the times with their new friends. It took quite a while for them to build these relationships and to lose their entire social “network” over the summer was hard.

For the last 20 months we have been homeschooling. It has been a wonderful experience and whilst challenging at times, also enormously gratifying. It was an enormous privilege to be able to spend so much time with them and I will cherish these moments forever.

Because of the social issues we face being so isolated and the fact that they really want to, we have decided that from this year they will be going to a “conventional” school in Rabat. Our “baby” will also be going to school for the first time ever, starting Pre-Kindergarten!

So this morning we headed back into normality and off to school!

In the week we will swap our wonderful farm views for a view of the Rabat city skyline, our house for a city apartment and our one minute walk to our classroom into a daily commute.

And so another chapter starts in our lives…..
