Hi everyone, well here we are safely back in Morocco again. Sadly we had to cut our trip short but we still had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed our two weeks in Spain! Every time we go to Spain I fall just a little bit more in love with the country!

Last year we stayed on the coast at Puerto Cabopino which is a wonderful little town, with a small marina and a really nice beach. So when we took a trip down to the beach this year it was our obvious choice as it was familiar and it is generally not too crowded.

Now if you look at the first photo this is the section of the beach where you can hire a lounger for the staggering price of €4 a day!!! Crikey, that would be € 20 for the four of us, (obviously due to the recession they are offering the mattresses for the loungers for free, as opposed to the €1 they usually cost extra), all for the pleasure of being stashed into an area with at least a hundred other people, now not being funny, but I am definitely the type of person that enjoys my own body space!!!

Far nicer on the other side…..

where at least you have enough space to bury your sister in the sand in peace…………………..

Along the beaches here you get chiringuitos, which are beach restaurants…and they usually have fresh sardines for sale, cooked on the spot!

It was the kids day to pick lunch, so instead of these wonderful sardines we had to have Chinese… Spain : (

Oh my gosh! I love your site! We absolutely adore our trips to Spain! We really look forward to eating Chinese food there. I cannot get enough of the rollos de primavera! We stayed very close to this beach last time and I think we actually went here! We have yet to find a place along the costa del sol that we didn’t like, though. Have you been up north? Barcelona is AMAZING!

Thanks for the lovely comment Tina! The only places I dont like are closer to Malaga, Torremolinos etc…but for the rest I also love it to!!! I have been dying to go to Barcelona and have it right at the top of the list!!!!!! :)

I have fallen totally in love with Spain too since living in the UK – Granada is probably one of my three favourite places in all the world.

I also loved your post about the ferry crossing – reminded me of an ill-fated family trip to Mauritius in 1987 on the equally ill-fated Achille Lauro. My only memory of a stormy Christmas Eve was my brother and I giving my mom the last Avomine tablet as an early Christmas present – but then at least she was well enough to go and get us more anti-nausea pills from the ship’s doctor!!
